Never been one to make resolutions myself. Seems like people never stick to them. But this year things are going to be different — Isn’t that how the idea’s supposed to start? I sat down to think about things that could make a difference in life for me and mine. Problem is it could fill a book the size of War and Peace. Hopefully you won’t laugh at me. But if you do ... good. Because that’s one of my first:
TO DO 2007
1. Make others laugh when possible
2. Wake up without slapping the snooze button eight times first
3. Wake up
4. Eat breakfast without rushing
5. Eat breakfast
6. Only call the kids ONE time when it’s time to go
7. Hurry up and go and remember everything
8. Work on spelling and math facts in the car and make it fun
9. Don’t take any back talk from the kids
10. Talk with the kids more
11. Say, “I love you” often
12. Slow down
13. Play different kinds of music in the car
14. Do makeup at home and not in the car ... who moi?
15. Get to work on time
16. Work smarter
17. Keep all lists on one notepad
18. Be spontaneous
19. Cheer only when a child does something worth cheering about
20. Mean it when I say, “Fine.”
21. Plan more interesting dinners
22. Hug my children until they’re sick of it
23. Hug my man more
24. Hug myself for once
25. Pet my pets more
26. Call far away family more
27. Call far away friends more
28. Call!
29. Be a better friend/sister/aunt/niece/cousin/daughter/daughter-in-law/wife/mother
30. Read everyday
31. Play everyday
32. Look at the sky everyday
33. Let go of having every little this and that done, clean and organized by bedtime
34. Go to bed
35. Stay in bed when thinking about things you don’t want to forget tomorrow
36. Sleep well

38. Have pleasant dreams
39. Dream
40. Enjoy your kids |
